Tank wagon or transport load: which truck fits the drop
A transport load is built for a large tank the truck can reach. A tank wagon is built for a smaller stop, a tight gate, or equipment that cannot drive to the rack.

What each truck is for
A transport, often called a semi or a tanker, wants volume. It earns its miles when the receiving tank is large, the approach is a yard or a plant road, and the window is long enough to hook up and pump off. Sending one to a 300-gallon tidy tank on a county job is how quotes die.
A tank wagon is the smaller truck distributors use for jobsite fills, farm tanks, and fleets that are not ready for a full transport. It can wet-hose equipment that has no bulk tank of its own. It still has a minimum. That minimum is the distributor’s number, not a national rule.
How to ask for the right one
Put the gallons, the fuel, and the ZIP where the truck will stop. In the notes, say whether there is a bulk tank, how the truck gets in, and whether someone has to fuel machines in the field. “Need diesel” is not a quote. “1,200 gallons of ULSD into the yard tank at this ZIP, gate opens at 6” is.
On Bulk Fueling, open the profile and check tank wagon, transport, or both before you write. The rank already requires the distributor to cover that ZIP and sell that fuel. The capability line tells you which truck they say they run.
Where this goes wrong
Buyers search the office ZIP and then wonder why the truck cannot make the pit. Search the delivery ZIP. If the site is outside a small radius, the distributor has to list that city or state, or the circle has to reach it.
A nearer wagon with a thin profile can still lose to a complete, verified listing a few miles farther. Closer helps. It does not decide the list alone. Read how the rank works if the order surprises you.
Questions
Is a tank wagon the same as a fuel truck?
In this directory, tank wagon means a delivery truck for smaller or tighter stops, including wet hose. A transport is the larger load into a tank the truck can reach.
Can one distributor do both?
Yes, if the profile lists both. If it lists only one, ask in the notes and expect a no when the truck does not fit.
